Joshua’s teaching philosophy is to motivate his students and make a positive difference towards their musical learning, as well as enabling his students to unleash their music talent and creativity to achieve their best results.

Joshua started learning piano at the age of six and has achieved ABRSM Grade 8 Piano Exam (with distinction) at a very young age. Joshua also achieved numerous prizes in different eisteddfods such as the McDonald’s Sydney Eisteddfod, Northern Beaches Eisteddfod (Sydney) and Hong Kong Schools’ Music Festival. He was also invited to perform as a guest piano performer in different local community events and schools.

In 2010, Joshua graduated with Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with outstanding results throughout his tertiary studies. This includes achieving a distinction average throughout the degree, and receiving a music scholarship $3000 from the university audition results. He also completed the AMEB LMusA piano exam with distinction.

Joshua has been one of the official piano tutors and piano accompanists at Chatswood Public School since 2012. His responsibilities include teaching various students across the school, and is involved in a variety of school events such as the Ryde eisteddfods, school presentation concert at The Concourse (Chatswood), and school ensembles as a piano accompanist.

Joshua is the founder and Head of School of Dolce School of Music. Graduate of Sydney Conservatorium of Music BMus (Performance) and accredited in his AMEB LMusA (with distinction) and AMusA piano exam, Joshua has a vast knowledge in piano pedagogy and piano performance experience. Many of his students had achieved outstanding results in both AMEB and ABRSM piano exams.

Joshua established Dolce School of Music with a team of professional musician aiming to nurture the music talents of the future generation with enthusiasm in music studies. The teams’ extensive knowledge in music allows the students from Dolce to achieve exceptional results for music exams from beginner grades to diploma level. Dolce has nurtured students to complete academic music studies such as the High School Certificate Music course. Which some further pursued music as their career, and is continuing their tertiary studies at professional music institutions including the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the University of New South Wales.

Joshua’s teachers include Dr. Paul Rickard-Ford, the Head of Keyboard in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and Mr. Sown Lee Choi, the chair and founder of Asia Piano Competition (Hong Kong). These music maestros inspired Joshua to achieve an advanced level of piano studies and broadened Joshua’s exposure to different music genres.
